Bella’s Butterfly Boxes

When we initially started the Bella Joy Foundation, our main goal was to help cover funeral costs for families who have experienced a loss of a baby. However, with having limited funds, we were looking for something that we could do right now. What can we do to let a grieving mother know that we care and that we are here for her? So, we thought up the Bella’s Butterfly Box, a sympathy box for grieving moms who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss.
The Bella's butterfly Box is just a little something to let mama know that they are not alone, we are here for them, and we care, and we know the hurt they are experiencing. Losing a baby is an unimaginable pain that I wish no one had to endure. It truly hurts and we just want to let the mamas know that they’re loved and not alone.
When mailing boxes out we often ask for their stories (only if they’re comfortable sharing) so we can get a sense of what to put in the box. Sometimes we personalize the box just for the mama. (Depending on the supplies we have,) each box that is mailed out looks a little different; no box is the same.
We have donated many to hospitals around Wisconsin and we have mailed many out.
As of 3/25/2025 we have donated, mailed, or delivered 144 boxes since 6/21/24.
